Vision & Mission

We are a Christ-centered community transforming lives through the power of the gospel—loving God, loving people, making disciples, and impacting the world.

Our Vision

At First Baptist Church Brady, we believe that the Church is more than a physical space where people gather for worship. It is the living, breathing body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27), called to reflect His love, truth, and grace to the world. Our church exists not for itself, but to glorify God, equip believers, and reach the lost with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Our vision is to see lives transformed by the power of the gospel, families strengthened in faith, and our community impacted by the light of Christ. This transformation is not an abstract goal; it is a tangible reality that takes place when believers walk in obedience to God, build strong Christian relationships, and faithfully engage in ministry and service.

As a church, we seek to be a place where:
  • The lost find salvation in Jesus Christ, and the gospel is preached with boldness and clarity.
  • Believers grow in faith and maturity, applying biblical truth to every area of life.
  • Families are strengthened and built upon the foundation of God’s Word, providing a legacy of faith for future generations.
  • Authentic Christian fellowship flourishes, where relationships are built on love, accountability, and encouragement.
  • Worship is passionate, reverent, and centered on Christ, glorifying God in spirit and truth.
  • Our community experiences the love of Christ, as we actively serve and care for those in need.
  • The nations hear the gospel, as we support and send missionaries to unreached people.
"And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers." – Acts 2:42

A Church Modeled After the Early Church

The early church in Acts 2:42-47 serves as our example, showing us how believers lived in unity and devotion to God:
  • Commitment to Biblical Teaching – The first Christians were devoted to the apostles' teaching. We prioritize biblical preaching and discipleship, ensuring that everything we teach aligns with Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16).
  • Authentic Fellowship – The early believers lived life together, supporting one another in love. We seek to cultivate a church family where no one walks alone (Hebrews 10:24-25).
  • A Lifestyle of Worship and Prayer – Worship was not an event; it was a way of life. We are committed to corporate worship, personal devotion, and intercessory prayer (Philippians 4:6-7).
  • Generosity and Service – The early church met one another’s needs, sharing freely. We want to be a church that serves selflessly, giving our time, resources, and talents to bless others (2 Corinthians 9:7).
  • Evangelism and Discipleship – The gospel spread rapidly because early believers were bold in their witness. We aim to be a church that shares the good news of Christ with urgency and conviction (Matthew 28:19-20).
"They received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved." – Acts 2:46-47

Our Mission

The mission of First Baptist Church Brady is rooted in the greatest commandments given by Jesus and His final commission to His disciples. In Matthew 22:37-39, Jesus commands us to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. In Matthew 28:19-20, He calls us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey all He has commanded.
These three commands—loving God, loving people, and making disciples—shape every aspect of our church’s mission. They compel us to worship passionately, serve selflessly, and share the gospel boldly. We are not called to remain comfortable inside the four walls of our church; we are called to be salt and light in the world, actively working to bring transformation wherever God has placed us (Matthew 5:13-16).

How We Live Out Our Mission

1. Loving God Through Worship and Obedience
Worship is the heart of everything we do. It is not just about singing or attending services—it is a lifestyle of devotion, surrender, and obedience to God. We express our love for God by:
  • Biblical Preaching and Teaching – Every sermon, Bible study, and small group lesson is rooted in Scripture (2 Timothy 4:2).
  • Authentic Worship – We worship God with our voices, our actions, and our hearts, exalting Him in all that we do (John 4:24).
  • Daily Surrender – We live holy lives, walking in obedience to His will (Romans 12:1).
"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." – Matthew 22:37

2. Loving People Through Community and Service
Jesus demonstrated that true love is sacrificial and active. We follow His example by:
  • Creating a Christ-centered community, where every person is known, valued, and supported (Romans 12:10).
  • Caring for those in need, ensuring that we serve the poor, the sick, widows, and orphans (James 1:27).
  • Practicing radical hospitality, welcoming all with grace, regardless of background (Luke 14:13-14).
"Let all that you do be done in love." – 1 Corinthians 16:14

3. Making Disciples Who Live and Share the Gospel
Discipleship is not just about attending church—it’s about growing in faith, applying biblical truth, and leading others to Christ. We are committed to:
  • Teaching sound doctrine, equipping believers with biblical knowledge (2 Timothy 2:2).
  • Providing mentorship and discipleship, fostering accountability and spiritual growth (Proverbs 27:17).
  • Encouraging every believer to use their gifts, serving the Church and community (1 Peter 4:10).
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." – Matthew 28:19

4. Serving the World Through Outreach and Missions
We are called to take the gospel beyond our church walls. This means:
  • Engaging in local outreach, ensuring that Brady hears and experiences the love of Christ (Matthew 5:16).
  • Supporting and sending missionaries, expanding God’s Kingdom (Romans 10:14-15).
  • Empowering believers to be everyday missionaries, sharing their faith wherever they go (Acts 1:8).
"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace." – 1 Peter 4:10
